Sitting in a city of 107,395, Green Bay, Wisconsin stands. For miles upon miles, all you can see are people’s homes. Then in the middle of the city lies what is arguably one of the meccas of football, Lambeau Field.
Green Bay is never going to land a Super Bowl, which makes landing the NFL Draft a massive success story. With Mark Murphy set to retire in July, there could not have been a more fitting way for Murphy to etch his legacy into the franchise forever.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell brought up Murphy to the stage to announce Green Bay’s first round draft pick. Murphy was arguably choked up as the dream he worked so hard to build finally came into fruition right before our eyes.
For the first time since 2002, Green Bay drafts a wide receiver in the first round. Matthew Golden from Texas becomes the next member of the Packers. Golden with an incredibly poetic name as Green and Golden quickly becomes the catch phrase.
Green Bay Hosts an Electric Atmosphere

For the most part, the weather held up for the NFL Draft. Crisp air and occasional rain made it feel like Spring football weather. There was also plenty of activities entertaining all.
Kids were rolling down Ariens Hill in the rain. The hill that is supposed to be for sledding, still became useful. While down below, the line for people to take pictures in front of the draft sign was massive.
Seeing people experience the culture of Lambeau Field and Titletown never gets old. The feeling of walking into Lambeau and watching a person experience it for the first time reminds me how special and unique Green Bay is.
As I took a picture of myself in the stadium, a gentleman talks about his wife and the fact that her family has season tickets. He talks to me about the fact that people in her family saw the Ice Bowl and the moment Bart Starr crosses the goal line.
While I get goosebumps from the chilling wind, I also know it is from the fact that Lambeau Field will be like nothing I will ever experience in my life. It is a moment in time that I wish I could bottle up again and again.
The Packers 2025 Draft Class: Fun and Frisky

This 2025 draft class is one of my favorites in a while. A perfect mix of addressing need, best player available, and honestly, some unique and dynamic players.
While it is a surprise the Packers went two receivers in the first three rounds, Savion Williams feels like a unicorn. Williams remains my most surprising pick of the draft. Going through his highlights, he can literally be the best and worst at just about anything.
However, with Matt LaFleur at the helm, watching how this offense evolves is going to be incredible. One thing is for certain; Brian Gutekunst has put the Packers wide receiving room on notice. The training camp battle is going to be must see.
My favorite draft pick is Barryn Sorrell, the Edge Rusher out of Texas. Sorrell is an overall solid person and player. When Texas players were asked what teammate they wanted to bring with them, Sorrell received overwhelming praise and the obvious first choice.
Sorrell’s character matched with his football skills is a perfect fit for the culture being constructed in Green Bay. Overall, Green Bay exceeded expectations. Both in the hosting of the draft and the players selected. Packers’ fans should feel thrilled as we head into a pivotal 2025 season.
