The Green Bay Packers were not a heavily fined team in terms of “Gameday Accountability” violations during the 2024 season. In fact, Matt LaFleur’s team was fined only eight total times and totaled just over $100,000 in total fines for “game-related rules violations that may result in accountability measures,” as set forward by the NFL and NFLPA.
The list includes players who were fined and later won their appeal.
On any given week, less than 2.0 percent of overall plays in the NFL include a fine-worthy violation.
Here are the Packers’ fines from 2024:
Week 3: RB Josh Jacobs — Unnecessary roughness (use of helmet) — $45,020
Week 6: CB Jaire Alexander — Unnecessary roughness (facemask) — $11,255
Week 7: TE Ben Sims — Unnecessary roughness (leg whip) — $5,083
Week 16: DL Colby Wooden — Unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking) — $6,150
Week 17: S Zayne Anderson — Unnecessary roughness (use of helmet) — $5,861
Week 18: DE Kingsley Enagbare — Unnecessary roughness (horsecollar tackle — $5,809
Wild Card Round: DL TJ Slaton — Unnecessary roughness (late hit) — $11,255
Wild Card Round: DE Lukas Van Ness — Unnecessary roughness (late hit) — $11,255
Total number of fines: 8
Total fine amount: $101,688
For reference’s sake, consider that the Detroit Lions had eight players fined by Week 6. Dan Campbell’s team finished with 22 fine-inducing violations in 2024.
Also, note that Jacobs’ fine for lowering his helmet during a run — resulting in almost half of the Packers’ total fines — was reversed on appeal. His fine was rescinded.
