The Packers’ youngsters are making plenty of big plays.
The Packers’ late-season surge is starting to look kind of familiar.
Jordan Love is heating up, the defense is rounding into form, and things seem to be clicking at every level. Even in their loss to the Lions, the Packers looked solid, giving the NFC’s best team all it could handle.
Amid their second-half surge, the Packers’ youth is again being served. Rookie Edgerrin Cooper immediately made an impact in his return from injury, and fellow rookie Evan Williams has been doing the same all year. Second-year Carrington Valentine made big plays, too, as did fellow second-year players Jayden Reed and Tucker Kraft. Even the positively ancient third-year pros Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson played stellar roles on Sunday.
It’s a different chapter of the same song as a year ago. A hot quarterback plus young playmakers is proving to be a successful formula once again, and it’s only a question of how far it can take the Packers at this point.
