If the Packers have a 2023-style run in them, it’s time to get started.
A year ago the Packers were still becoming the team that would terrorize the NFC playoff field down the stretch. Jordan Love hadn’t quite rounded into form. The offense wasn’t clicking. Aaron Jones was still hampered by injuries and AJ Dillon wasn’t carrying the load in his absence.
We know what that team became — just ask the Dallas Cowboys. Can this year’s squad flip the switch the same way?
I don’t know the answer to that question, but the pieces are still there. Love flashes enough every week that a hot streak doesn’t feel impossible. The Packers aren’t short on offensive contributors. Even if their pass rush isn’t getting home, there’s enough talent on defense to slow down any given opponent.
The Packers have issues, sure, but they seem correctible. Penalties, drops, and red zone inefficiency can all disappear in the blink of an eye, but will they? Let’s hope so. If the Packers are going to transform into a true contender, now’s the time.
