Jacobs has made his presence felt on and off the field in Green Bay.
Josh Jacobs had big shoes to fill when he arrived in Green Bay.
Well, not literally. Aaron Jones isn’t the biggest guy in the world, so I doubt Jacobs had any problem metaphorically taking over Jones’ shoes. But Jones had a presence in Green Bay that belied his size, and replacing him was never going to be an easy job.
So far, though, Jacobs has done his level best, making big plays on the field and shaping the Packers off it. He’s been a plug-and-play leader for a still-young Packers team that can use all the veteran guidance it can get.
Now, in the wake of Preston Smith’s departure, Jacobs has an opportunity to take an even bigger leadership role in Green Bay. Based on the early returns, it looks like he’ll be well-suited to the task.
