Tom Brady really likes what he’s seen from Green Bay’s Jordan Love thus far and he thinks a lot of it has to do with sitting behind a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers over his first couple of years.
Appearing on Colin Cowherd’s syndicated radio show, the soon-to-be FOX Sports analyst gave his assessment of Love’s 2023 campaign. Saying the time he spent watching Rodgers was huge for the former first-round pick.
“He had Aaron Rodgers to watch. That’s the best type of training, in my opinion. Watch someone else do it at a very high level and then try to emulate them with your own personality,” Brady explained.
“Maybe a little bit of a misnomer with the draft is that these players can come in and all of the sudden become this great professional player before they’ve really had the training and the development.”
Brady sat behind Drew Bledsoe as a sixth-round pick out of Michigan before taking full advantage of his opportunity when Bledsoe went down with an injury.
There’s something to be said for quarterbacks that get the chance to learn under an established vet before becoming the new face of the franchise.
Although QBs like C.J. Stroud sometimes make that seem like an unnecessary step.
