The Green Bay Packers (2-2) have experienced their fair share of ups and downs to begin their season. From a hot start on the defensive side of the ball to Jordan Love missing time and their rookie kicker struggling to put the ball between the uprights, Titletown finds themselves breaking even at the end of a long and hectic September. After taking a loss to Philadelphia, defeating two teams in the AFC South, and losing to division rival Minnesota, Green Bay is looking to prove they are capable of competing for an NFC North title alongside Sam Darnold’s red-hot Vikings and defending division champion Detroit Lions. Below are game predictions for the Green Bay Packers next month of regular season football.
Green Bay Packers Predictions: Game-by-Game and Player of the Month Predictions for October
Los Angeles Rams
Green Bay heads down to Inglewood this Sunday to play against the Los Angeles Rams, which will be the first away game against the Rams since both Sean McVay and Matt LaFleur became head coaches of their respective teams. The Rams offense is missing their two star wideouts in Triple Crown winner Cooper Kupp and sophomore sensation Puka Nacua, making Matthew Stafford’s job tough against a Packers pass rush that has been as aggressive as it gets.
With the Rams defense struggling to force turnovers and pressure the quarterback on a consistent basis, a newly healthy Jordan Love should thrive, even with WR Christian Watson out with an ankle injury.
The Packers should take care of business at SoFi Stadium, continuing McVay’s losing streak against LaFleur.
Prediction: Win
Packers 27-13 Rams
3-2
Arizona Cardinals
Green Bay will face the Cardinals at Lambeau, a team that has seen Kyler Murray come into his own. After returning from injury, Murray has proven he can hang with some of the top passers in the league. It did not take long for Murray to build a strong connection with first-round draft pick Marvin Harrison Jr., making the offense a well-oiled machine with James Conner in the backfield as well.
Unfortunately, the defense is to blame for Arizona’s 1-3 record to start the 2024-2025 season. They have allowed 26.5 points to opponents per game, the fourth worst this season.
Look for this matchup to be high-scoring as both defenses struggle to contain talent at the quarterback position. Home-field advantage is a factor in this one, though.
Prediction: Win
Packers 34-31 Cardinals
4-2
Houston Texans
Titletown stays at home for one more week to face a juggernaut of an offense in CJ Stroud’s Texans. With Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, and receiving yards leader Nico Collins in Stroud’s toolkit, a Packers defense that very well could be missing their top cornerbacks will falter. Additionally, with RB Joe Mixon set to return soon, it will be hard to contain both the run and pass despite Green Bay’s explosive outing.
With Collins on pace to break Calvin Johnson’s all-time receiving yards record and too many other weapons for Green Bay to handle, home-field advantage won’t be enough to give Green Bay the edge this time around.
Prediction: Loss
Packers 24-31 Texans
4-3
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville rounds out the Packers AFC South matchups for the season and rounds out Green Bay’s October matchups.
The Jaguars offense has not been what Trevor Lawrence hoped, to say the least. Through four games, the offense is fourth in giveaways, second worst in completion percentage, third worst in converting 3rd downs, and scores just 15 points a game.
Defensively, Jacksonville has also been lackluster, ranking last in takeaways and third to last in total yards allowed.
If Jacksonville continues to struggle as a whole, it is hard to envision a scenario where Jaguars come out victorious. To say the least, once again, Green Bay should be able to win easily on the road.
Prediction: Win
Packers 30-10 Jaguars
5-3
Offensive Player of the Month
Prediction: Dontayvion Wicks
After a two-touchdown performance against Minnesota, it is clear that Wicks has been and will become an important piece to this Packers offense in the games to come. This is especially true for snaps in the red zone and as a jump ball threat downfield. With Christian Watson possibly missing some time, look for Wicks to make a statement this October.
Defensive Player of the Month
Prediction: Kenny Clark
Being one of the more established defensive tackles in the league, Clark should be able to do some damage to offensive lines facing injuries this season. Without a sack yet on the year, Clark is due for a good October outing.
