NBC’s “Today” made an embarrassing mistake while discussing the weather forecast for this Sunday’s NFC Championship Game between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.
The graphic for the NFC Championship featured the correct logos for the Lions and 49ers. However, it said “Packers vs. 49ers” in the middle of the graphic.
“As we slide towards the west, this is like a nearly perfect forecast,” the meteorologist for NBC said. “Packers vs. 49ers at 6:30 p.m. ET – partly cloudy skies, light winds. I’m hoping for a Packers-Ravens Super Bowl.”
After she was corrected by a colleague, she made it clear she’s still predicting a loss for the 49ers.
“That’s what I meant. They [the Packers] lost last week. I meant Lions win.”
Wait a second here…🤔
(To be fair, ‘Today’ immediately corrected the error…nonetheless)

The Packers had a chance to upset the 49ers last Saturday, but an interception from Jordan Love sealed their fate.
We’ll see if the Lions can knock off the 49ers and reach the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.
The NFC Championship Game will be televised on FOX.
