‘Mannnnnnnnnn pull back up!’
Twice over the last week, former Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams, who is still under contract with the New York Jets, has spoken on the Packers with FanDuel TV’s Kay Adams. On Friday, he stated that he’s open to returning to a former team, with Adams hinting that it “rhymes with smackers.” On Tuesday, Kay mentioned that the Packers could be looking at a wide receiver one, which Adams deflected to a conversation about Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, who is in the final year of his contract.
At least one Packers player used the replies to that last clip as an opportunity for Adams’ recruitment. All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney stated, “Mannnnnnnnnn pull back up!” to the tweet.

Adams still has two years left on the extension he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders following his trade from Green Bay, but it’s uncertain whether or not the Jets will attempt to rework Adams’ deal or release him to avoid paying his $35.6 million base salary in 2025. If they do release him, then he’ll become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.
In his time with the Packers, who have plenty of cap space this offseason, Adams started 109 games and made 669 receptions for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. He ranks second all-time in franchise receptions and touchdowns.
Who knows if Green Bay, a team not known for adding splashy free agents on the offensive side of the ball, will be interested in the 32-year-old receiver, but at least their star defender thinks that it’s a good idea to entertain.
