If you’re wondering who the Packers might target at corner, look no further than the Lattimore list.
The 2025 NFL Draft is here and the time for pre-draft articles is just about up, but there’s this one last thing I have to mention before Thursday night rolls around. For context, I wrote a piece back in March about how almost every corner on the Green Bay Packers is a close athletic comp per Relative Athletic Score (RAS) to former Saint and current Commander Marshon Lattimore. Here, take a look.
It’s a pretty strong trend! To be clear, I don’t think the Packers are specifically targeting guys who they believe are similar to Lattimore, I just think they likely have athletic thresholds for corners that just happen to reflect the player that Lattimore was. As a result, the RAS database’s comparison system just happens to provide a window into who they’re looking for.
And since I’m the one who noticed it, I figured I wouldn’t be doing my duty if I didn’t take a look through this year’s corners. And so I did. And there are two corners in this draft who are close comps to Lattimore.

The first is Iowa State’s Darien Porter. Porter’s 9.99 RAS is one of the best of all time, and the man oozes athleticism. He’s a track guy, his parents were college athletes, and at the combine he was clocked at a ridiculous 23.89 mph. Unfortunately, he’s almost entirely projection, as he barely played at Iowa State, and he’s one of the older prospects in the draft. Then again, the Packers are not against taking a raw version of the Lattimore profile and it’s worked for them. Mr. Brugler has him as a third rounder, and he’s 66th on the consensus board.

The other close comp is Tulane’s Caleb Ransaw and his 9.75 RAS. Ransaw, like Porter, is a great athlete, but his technique needs work. His ball skills in particular are brutal, and if you’re after a ball hawk, this is not your guy. He also gets panicky when he loses the ball, and reacts by grabbing. He is ranked lower as a result, as Brugler’s CB 15, and 152nd on the consensus board.
I don’t know much about either player, and it doesn’t appear that the Packers brought in either for a visit, but if I had to wager on anything this draft season, it would be one of these guys winding up as a Packer. In particular, Ransaw is likely to be available late, and I’ll wager the Packer analytics department will have him ranked higher than just about anyone else.
