Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander is looking focussed and dialed in ahead of this week’s matchup. His revived game couldn’t be coming at a better time with the task at hand this Sunday.
Who would have thought coming into this season that Week 4 against the Vikings would have so much weight to it?
Jaire Alexander Looking Back to Form
While last season was disappointing to say the least, Jaire was looking much more like the elite cornerback we all know him to be last weekend.
Further, his attitude and leadership have been on full display over the last several weeks. Ja$ is already looking night and day different this season. Here’s a snapshot of his 2023 stats compared with where he is currently in 2024, courtesy of pff.com
Jaire will also no doubt be riding high off his career first pick six against the Titans!
Vocal In The Locker Room
I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the clips of Jaire addressing the team during LaFleur’s post game huddles in the locker room. Hearing the way he talks about continuing to build and being one team reminds me a lot of Charles Woodson’s vibe during the 2010 run to the Superbowl.
Take a look at Jaire Alexander addressing the squad after Weeks 2 & 3.

The Task At Hand
Alexander and the rest of the Packers secondary will certainly be tested this weekend. Sam Darnold is looking incredible leading the Vikings to a 3-0 start this season.
Darnold, whom we all assumed would be a push over heading into the season, is currently sporting a 117.3 passer rating. He’s also ranked 1st in the league for touchdowns with 8 tallied so far this season.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur has done an incredible job scheming the Packers gameplan during the absence of QB Jordan Love. Meanwhile, the same could be said of Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell, who has simultaneously displayed his own master class in offensive scheming without TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Jordan Addison being able to contribute.
We’ll see if Hafley can counteract this dynamic offense that is currently ranked 6th when it comes to explosive plays.
Jaire Alexander vs Justin Jefferson: The Griddying
I would be remissed if I didn’t point out the 1v1 everyone is looking for this weekend. I’ll never get sick of seeing this…..
While we wont know until Sunday if Jaire will shadow Jefferson, I am excited to see them line up across from each other.
Jefferson has found his way to the endzone in all 3 games so far this season. We’ll see if Jaire will get the best of him this week, and maybe throw another griddy his way.
Final Zen Thoughts
While my bias is undeniable as a Packers homer that sports a 23 jersey every week, I am looking for Jaire to be in lock down mode this Sunday.
I am so happy to see the turn around from last year. Jaire looks revitalized in Jeff Hafley’s new 4-3 scheme. His chemistry on field as well with new stud safety Xavier McKinney has been awesome to watch. I hope to see them both secure another takeaway this Sunday at Lambeau.
I think this will be a close one with the Packers getting the victory 20-13.
