Packers safety Jonathan Owens, who happens to be married to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, has been receiving an absurd amount of backlash on social media this week.
During an appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, Owens said he didn’t know who Biles was when they matched on a dating app in 2020.
“So literally, had been on the app for a couple of days, man, and it’s like she pops up and I’m like, ‘Let me see who this is’ … I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” Owens said.
Most of the world questioned that comment since Biles is one of the most iconic gymnasts ever. Others, meanwhile, were furious that Owens referred to himself as “the catch” in the relationship.
Biles, however, doesn’t think her husband said anything wrong. She reposted a few tweets in support of him.
“Never thought I’d see the day where you get canceled for having confidence,” one user wrote.

“It’s clearly most women didn’t watch the full podcast..The attacks this guy is facing based upon a 10 second clip about HIS experience is wild,” another person said. “He literally goes the entire interview honoring and showering his wife Simone with love..You people are pathetic smh.”

There you have it. Biles was not insulted in the slightest by what her husband said.
We’re hoping this drama comes to an end very soon, especially since it’s so unwarranted.
