Earlier this year, Packers safety Jonathan Owens and United States gymnast Simone Biles tied the knot. They first went public with their relationship in August 2020.
During an appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, Owens was asked how he “pulled” one of the greatest Olympians of all time.
Owens told Ryan Clark and the rest of the crew that he matched with Biles on a dating app. At that time, he didn’t know much about her.
“So literally, had been on the app [Raya] for a couple of days, man, and she pops up and I’m like ‘let me see who this is.’ I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” Owens said. “I come back and I have some likes on my Instagram — and then I still waited. Then she messaged me on the app, ‘Hey’. I thought, ‘Man, this gotta be fake.’
“I didn’t know who she was at the time. But like, the first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of followers. In my mind, I was like she’s got to be good. When she won the Olympics I was in college and we didn’t have NBC. We didn’t have an Olympic channels and we’re in camp. So I’m not paying attention to you know, so I never would have had a moment to where I would have watched.”
You know how it goes with us. I’m on my interview & of course @OfficialCrowder asked what we all skipped around…
“How’d you pull @simonebiles?”@jjowens_3 was a young bachelor in H-Town, new to dating apps, & he had a perfect match with some young lady named Simone. Jonathan… pic.twitter.com/UAmggMAvEb

Biles, who couldn’t help but chuckle in the background, corrected Owens as he was talking about their story.
Once this NFL season is over, Biles and Owens will have plenty of time to create more memories that’ll last a lifetime.
