Jonathan Owens, the husband of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, will remain in the NFC North for the next two season. He just won’t be suiting up for the Green Bay Packers anymore.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo just reported that Owens agreed to a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears.
Per reports, Owens will make $4.5 million over the course of his deal with the Bears.
Owens, 28, started his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals before having a four-year stint with the Houston Texans. He finished that tenure with 143 tackles, five pass deflections and an interception.
It wasn’t until this past season when Owens became a true impact player. In 17 games, he racked up 84 tackles, three pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a sack for the Packers.
Owens also made noise at the end of 2023 because he said he didn’t know who Biles was before they started dating.
“So literally, had been on the app for a couple of days, man, and it’s like she pops up and I’m like, ‘Let me see who this is’ … I had never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” Owens said.
Owens and Biles went public with their relationship in August 2020. They eventually got married in April 2023.
Next up for Owens and Biles is a trip to the Windy City.
