Patrick Mahomes is running out of accomplishments to check off his bucket list, but the star quarterback will play his first game at Lambeau Field.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback looked forward to making his debut at the iconic NFL stadium when speaking to reporters Wednesday.
“I’m extremely excited for it,” Mahomes said of playing at Lambeau. “I’ve watched it my whole entire life, and I know it’s going to be a hostile environment. The fans are going to be loud; it’s going to be a lot like Arrowhead is to other teams.
“I’m excited. If you love football, you love Lambeau Field. I’m excited to get the opportunity to play there.”

Mahomes missed a 2019 home matchup against the Packers, so he’s only faced the NFC squad once during his decorated career. The quarterback settled for 166 yards and a touchdown in a 13-7 victory at Arrowhead in Jordan Love’s first career NFL start.
While Mahomes again missed a chance to play against former Packers icon Aaron Rodgers earlier this season, he’ll see Love for the second time this Sunday night.
After throwing three touchdowns in an impressive Thanksgiving Day victory over the Detroit Lions, the 25-year-old looks more ready for the primetime rematch.
“Jordan has gotten better and better every single game,” Mahomes said. “He’s always had the talent, but when you get more and more reps — I mean he didn’t play for three years basically — so he’s gotten more and more reps, you can see how much more comfortable he’s getting.”
Mahomes remains a viable MVP candidate for the 8-3 Chiefs despite brandishing career-low marks in touchdown rate (5.1%), yards per attempt (7.1), and quarterback rating (96.3). He’ll look to kick into high gear at a tough road environment when Kansas City goes into Lambeau this Sunday night for an NBC matchup starting at 8:20 p.m. ET.
