Green Bay needs a win to keep their slim NFC North chances alive
The Green Bay Packers are short favorites at home against the Miami Dolphins in this Thanksgiving night matchup. Lately, the Dolphins have been red hot. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has posted three 120-plus passer rating games in the month of November after missing a month and a half of the season with a concussion.
Can the Packers’ defense, without cornerback Jaire Alexander or linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, bog down the Dolphins’ explosive skill players? We’re about to find out just how prepared defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s unit is on a short week. Luckily, Hafley will have Isaiah McDuffie — who was listed as questionable coming into the game. Center Josh Myers, another questionable player, is going to suit up.
Offensively, Green Bay has been riding the hot hand of Josh Jacobs recently. Jacobs, who is leading the league in missed tackles forced, Over the last four games, the running back has rushed for 404 yards and has scored six times on the ground. Despite injuries that have landed backup running backs AJ Dillon and MarShawn Lloyd on the injured reserve, the strength of Jacobs — spelled by Chris Brooks and Emanuel Wilson — has kept the Packers’ running game afloat.
