LB Isaiah McDuffie and C Josh Myers will suit up against Miami
The Green Bay Packers announced that both center Josh Myers and inside linebacker Isaiah McDuffie will be playing against the Miami Dolphins tonight. Myers (pectoral) and McDuffie (ankle) were both estimated to be non-participants on the Packers’ Monday and Tuesday practice reports and were listed as questionable by the team on Wednesday.
This is a huge break for Green Bay, a team that doesn’t have much depth left on the interior offensive line or the linebacker position. Unfortunately, though, cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee), linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) and receiver Romeo Doubs (concussion) are going to miss the game. Some combination of Eric Stokes and/or Carrington Valentine should replace Alexander while Eric Wilson will step in as the Packers’ third linebacker — the same plan of action Green Bay deployed last week when both players were out of the lineup. Doubs missing the game will mean a playing time increase for both Dontayvion Wicks and Bo Melton at receiver.
The only healthy scratch for the Packers today is rookie interior offensive lineman Jacob Monk, who was also inactive last week. On paper, Green Bay doesn’t have a backup interior offensive lineman, which means they’ll need to reshuffle their lineup if someone drops out. Andre Dillard, Kadeem Telfort and Travis Glover, the backup offensive linemen available in this game, are all considered to be offensive tackles.
The Dolphins are down linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. and cornerback Kendall Fuller, who were ruled out yesterday. Miami also won’t be playing quarterback Tyler Huntley, who was promoted to the active roster today and will serve as the emergency quarterback who can only come into the game if both Tua Tagovailoa and Skyler Thompson drop out with an injury. Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead, who was listed as questionable, will suit up against the Packers tonight.
