On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers will make a short trip south to take on the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. This rivalry game has not been much of a rivalry in recent years, with the Packers dominating the head-to-head series of late, but the NFL’s oldest and most-played rivalry will always draw a significant amount of interest across the league.
This week, the game will kick off in the early time slot and will air on FOX, with the network giving this game its top broadcast pairing of Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady. The network gets just a single game to put on air across the country this week, however, with CBS having the doubleheader, so the viewing area will be a bit more limited than most games that a network’s A team would call.
Up against four other games on FOX — including a pair of late games out west — the Packers-Bears contest gets a decent footprint on local affiliates across the US. But it’s hardly a nationwide broadcast, with nearly the entire west and mountain time zones getting late games and several major metro areas in the northeast seeing different games as well.
Here’s a look at this week’s broadcast map, with the Packers-Bears game shown in red:
As usual, fans who live in markets that are not red on this map will need to find alternative ways of watching the game, which would include watching via NFL Sunday Ticket or visiting a local establishment that has a Sunday Ticket subscription.
