San Francisco will be without their quarterback, left tackle and top pass rusher
Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) were ruled out against the San Francisco 49ers on Friday. Beyond those two, the Packers announced before kickoff on Sunday that safety Kitan Oladapo and offensive lineman Jacob Monk will be healthy scratches against the 49ers.
Alexander will likely be replaced by Carrington Valentine, allowing Javon Bullard to remain in the slot, while Cooper will have his reps covered by outside linebackers Eric Wilson and Isaiah McDuffie. Oladapo has consistently been a healthy scratch as a rookie, so his addition on the inactives was no surprise.
What is interesting, though, is that Monk is a healthy scratch. Without Jordan Morgan, who was placed on the injured reserve earlier this month, Monk was expected to be the next man up on the interior offensive line. Now, the team’s backup offensive linemen in this game are Andre Dillard, Kadeem Telfort and Travis Glover, none of which have played extended playing time for Green Bay. If there is an injury on the interior, there’s a good chance you see either right tackle Zach Tom or left guard Elgton Jenkins slide in one spot while a tackle comes off of the bench.
San Francisco will be out quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip, obliques), who were both ruled out on Friday. It doesn’t seem as though that left tackle Trent Williams’ pre-game workout went well, either. Reports on Saturday night claimed that the 49ers were hopeful that Williams would be able to suit up against Green Bay. Unfortunately for San Francisco, he joined Purdy and Bosa on their inactives list.
