Cooper, formerly of Oklahoma State, is a likely late-round pick or UDFA.
Add another name to the list of potential late-round offensive linemen for the Green Bay Packers. The team appears to have its top six set for the 2025 season, but adding depth may well be a consideration for general manager Brian Gutekunst, who has now brought in a third late-round line prospect for an official pre-draft visit.
Prior confirmed visits were Arkansas State center Jacob Bayer and Washington State tackle Esa Pole. Joining the list today, as reported by Tom Pelissero, is Oklahoma State tackle Dalton Cooper, who will also have visits with the Colts and Chiefs.
Cooper is currently rated as the 318th overall prospect on the Consensus Big Board and the 309th prospect at Pro Football Focus. However, he comes with a wealth of experience, size, and raw athletic ability. Additionally, Cooper participated in the Shrine Bowl earlier this year.
As Pelissero notes, Cooper started 57 games in his six-year college career, which began with four years at Texas State before a transfer to Oklahoma State for the last two seasons. Cooper was a full-time starter as a redshirt freshman in 2020, and got an extra year of eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Primarily a left tackle throughout his career, Cooper earned praise for his pass-blocking prowess in a breakdown by Packers Wire earlier this offseason.
That quality pass-blocking comes in part from his size and athleticism. Cooper measured in at 6-foot-6 and 326 pounds at the Cowboys’ Pro Day in March, then put up an impressive workout. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.99 seconds, posted a vertical of 28 inches and a broad jump of 9 feet, and ran the short shuttle in 4.64 seconds. Those above-average results combine to give him a RAS of 9.07, with the shuttle putting him squarely in the Packers’ ideal range (the team’s historical ideal time for linemen is 4.75 seconds or faster).
Given his six years in college football, Cooper is by definition an older prospect, which will likely keep him as a late-round pick or an undrafted free agent. However, his blend of size and athleticism should keep him squarely on the Packers’ radar in the latter stages of day three of the draft.
