Green Bay Packers kick return ace Keisean Nixon owes his teammate Eric Wilson basically his entire game check for today’s playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers because Wilson may have saved Nixon from being public enemy No. 1 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
After giving up a touchdown to the 49ers in the third quarter, Nixon ran out the ensuing kick return and managed to get the ball more than 70 yards downfield. But as he cut inside, a 49ers defender punched out the ball.
Fortunately for Nixon, Wilson was there to jump on the fumble, setting up the Packers at the 49ers’ 20-yard line. That save by Wilson probably saved Nixon from being the most unpopular man in Wisconsin for the next few months.
What a rollercoaster!
Huge Keisean Nixon return, he fumbles, but the Packers jump on it.

Four plays later, Packers QB Jordan Love found Tucker Kraft for the lead-taking touchdown and a two-point conversion, giving them a 21-14 edge and their biggest lead of the game.
If the Packers hold on to win the game, they’ll owe Nixon and Wilson big time for setting them up in plus territory like that so soon after giving up the lead.
The game is being played on Fox.
