The Green Bay Packers might have to face the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday without their best cornerback.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur revealed that Jaire Alexander suffered a “freak” ankle injury at practice on Wednesday.
“Kind of a freak deal yesterday… stepped on someone’s foot and rolled an ankle,” LaFleur said, via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky.
Alexander is considered day-to-day as of right now. LaFleur ultimately thought it was best to keep his All-Pro cornerback out of practice today.

Yesterday was a jog-through.
LaFleur said he’s considered day to day and they thought it was best if he didn’t go today.

Alexander has already missed a considerable amount of time this season due to injuries. If he’s unable to go on Sunday, that would be a crushing blow to the Packers’ secondary.
Since entering the league in 2018, Alexander has recorded 271 total tackles, 63 passes defended, 10 interceptions and three forced fumbles.
The Packers will announce Alexander’s status for Wild Card Weekend in the next 24 hours. There’ll be a lot of nervous fans waiting for that update.
