The Green Bay Packers have added a new quarterback while Jordan Love isn’t practicing.
They signed Jacob Eason to the 90-man roster and he’ll get to practice while the Packers try and work out an agreement with Love. They know Eason a little bit since he was part of the team’s rookie camp this year.
He got his start in 2020 after getting drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Since then, he’s bounced around to the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, and New York Giants before ending up with the Packers.
He’s appeared in two games, compiling 84 passing yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Eason will be the third quarterback to practice alongside Sean Clifford and Michael Pratt.
Love will join them once he gets his new contract signed. It’s expected to be a whopper, potentially making him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.
It’ll be a lot of money after he finished the season with 4,159 yards through the air, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He got the Packers to the NFC divisional round before losing to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Packers will start the regular season on September 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
