Green Bay has major question marks in the secondary going into Sunday
Despite being limited participants for at least two practices this week, defensive tackle Kenny Clark (toe), running back Josh Jacobs (quadricep) and center Josh Myers (wrist) will all be playing against the Chicago Bears this week, according to the Green Bay Packers’ final injury report on Friday. While Clark and Jacobs both suited up for the Packers’ last game before the bye, Myers missed action against the Detroit Lions.
In other good news, quarterback Jordan Love (groin) was a full participant in practice this entire week. After two significant injuries, it appears that Love’s limitations are now officially behind him.
The questionable players for the Packers going into Sunday are cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and safety Evan Williams (hamstring), who both missed Week 9’s game against the Lions. If Williams is out, assume that Javon Bullard will move from his slot role to the full-time safety position, which should kick Keisean Nixon into the slot from outside cornerback. If Alexander is out along with Williams, you could see plenty of Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes at outside cornerback versus Chicago.
The player designated as doubtful for Green Bay is defensive tackle Colby Wooden (shoulder), who was a non-participant in practice throughout the week. Two players have officially been ruled out for the Packers: third-round rookie running back MarShawn Lloyd, who has appendicitis, and first-round rookie guard Jordan Morgan, who reaggravated his shoulder injury. Down Morgan, the next man up on the interior offensive line will be rookie fifth-round pick Jacob Monk, should anyone does go down.
On Chicago’s end of the injury report, both left tackle Braxton Jones and right tackle Darnell Wright will play for the Bears after being limited for Wednesday’s and Thursday’s practices. Not all is well on their offensive line, though, as guard Teven Jenkins (ankle) has been ruled out after being a non-participant for all three practices this week.
Defensively, defensive end Montez Sweat (ankle) is listed as questionable despite being a non-participant on Wednesday and a full participant on Friday. Starting safety Jaquan Brisker was also placed on the injured reserve earlier this week for a concussion.
