Both defensive backs were held out versus the Detroit Lions
Entering this weekend, cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and safety Evan Williams (hamstring) were both listed as questionable by the Green Bay Packers going into their matchup against the Chicago Bears. Alexander and Williams both missed the Packers’ last game, before their bye week, against the Detroit Lions.
Despite the Packers signing cornerback Robert Rochell to the active roster on Saturday, both defensive backs are going to be active against the Bears. Instead, Rochell — along with safety Kitan Oladapo, tackle Travis Glover and defensive lineman Colby Wooden — is inactive for this game. Wooden was listed as doubtful by the Packers’ final injury report of the week, as he was unable to participate in any practice following the bye. The other three inactives are all healthy scratches for Green Bay.
Because first-round rookie Jordan Morgan (shoulder) was placed on the injured reserve earlier this week, the Packers will only have three backup offensive linemen in this game. Rookie fifth-round pick Jacob Monk will serve as the team’s backup interior offensive lineman while the combination of Andre Dillard (left) and Kadeem Telfort (right) will be Green Bay’s backup tackles.
The Bears will be out safety Ameer Speed, tackle Kiran Amegadjie, guard Teven Jenkins and defensive end Dominique Robinson. Jenkins is the only significant contributor out of the bunch and was ruled out earlier this week. Defensive end Montez Sweat (ankle) was listed as questionable on Friday but will play for Chicago. As a reminder, safety Jaquan Brisker was placed on the injured reserve by the Bears earlier this week.
