In just a few days the Green Bay Packers will go on the road for a divisional round showdown against the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
The San Francisco 49ers were the best team in the conference for most of the season and clinched the No. 1 seed with a win over the Washington Commanders in Week 17. That move allowed the team to rest key players like quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Christian McCaffrey.
With the 49ers fully rested and ready to go, they’ll have some extra motivation heading into Saturday night’s game. Packers defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt “guaranteed” a turnover from Purdy if the team can get pressure on him.
Devonte Wyatt on Brock Purdy: “When D-linemen just get pressure into him, he’s always throwing off or it’s behind them or it’s overthrown or short … when you get pressure on him, it’s a guarantee we’ll get a turnover.”
Purdy led NFL this season in passer rating when pressured.

“When D-linemen just get pressure into him, he’s always throwing off or it’s behind them or it’s overthrown or short,” Wyatt said. “When you get pressure on him, it’s a guarantee we’ll get a turnover.”
His comments are eerily similar to those Pittsburgh Steelers corner Patrick Peterson made before Week 1 of the 2023 season.
“There is some tell signs out there that tells us what plays we’re gonna get from those guys in certain situations,” Peterson said about Purdy. “When I get my pick Sunday, we’ll talk about it.”
In the end, the 49ers dusted the Steelers by a final score of 30-7.
Hopefully fans will see a more entertaining game on Saturday night as the 49ers host the Packers with a berth in the NFC title game on the line.
