Like boxing has “matchups makes fights,” the NFL has “it’s not who you play, it’s when you play them.” The Green Bay Packers have a bad matchup on Sunday, but thanks to injuries, they are a 5.5 point favorite over the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers will be without quarterback Brock Purdy and defensive end Nick Bosa. At 5-5 the 49ers are reeling.
Like last year when the Packers got a Rams team starting some guy I’m not even going to bother to lookup at QB, this is a gift the Packers must take and run with. Granted, the 49ers will have Deebo Samual, Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle, not having your starting quarterback and your best pass rusher is going to hurt.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love looked the best he has in a long time last week against the Bears, even with the bad interception. He was moving much better and had a few nice scrambles. The Packers’ defense had a rough day against the Bears but there was the unknown of what the Bears’ new offensive coordinator would do. I think they will be better this week.
The Packers need to take care of business this week at home with two games in four days. I’ll say they take this one 31-20.
