The Green Bay Packers signed rookie running back Deshaun Fenwick to the team’s practice squad on Tuesday. The opening on the practice squad was created by running back Ellis Merriweather going on the practice squad injured list.
Fenfick is a 6-1, 223-pound rookie out of Oregon State. He spent three seasons at South Carolina (2018-20) before transferring to Oregon State, where he produced 1,516 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 17 receptions, 105 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns across 35 games and three seasons (2021-23).
Per Pro Football Focus, Fenwick forced 70 missed tackles and had 63 runs of 10 or more yards during his collegiate career.
Fenwick signed with the New England Patriots after the 2024 draft. He played in one preseason game with the Patriots but was released on Aug. 26.
Fenwick is now the only running back on the Packers practice squad. The 53-man roster consists of Josh Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks, and MarShawn Lloyd remains on the non-football illness list.
