The state’s two NFL teams square off in prime time tonight.
It’s almost time for the final NFL game of week 11, as Monday Night Football is upon us to bring the week to a close. Tonight, football fans will be treated to an intra-state matchup, as the struggling Dallas Cowboys host the Houston Texans in a battle for the proverbial pro football soul of the state of Texas.
At this point, there’s no question which of these teams is the better one, however. Although they have lost three of their last four games, the Texans are 6-4 and largely in control of the AFC South division and a playoff spot. The Cowboys, on the other hand, have lost starting quarterback Dak Prescott for the season to injury, though they were already struggling mightily before he went out two weeks ago.
Dallas is just 3-6 and is well back of the other playoff teams in the NFC, which may well spell the end for Mike McCarthy’s tenure soon. Dallas also has the 31st-ranked scoring defense in the NFL, with only the Carolina Panthers allowing more points per game. Accordingly, the Texans are big road favorites tonight.
Join us tonight to see which team will claim bragging rights for the state of Texas.
