Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions did not start off on the right foot at Lambeau Field tonight.
The Lions got the ball first on Thursday Night Football, and after a failed run and a short pass lost one yard on the first two plays, Goff was entrusted to throw on 3rd-and-11.
While the former No. 1 overall pick had a relatively clean pocket, he still wound up lofting an ill-advised throw over the middle of the field that was easily intercepted by Packers safety Rudy Ford.
Ford returned the gift inside the 20-yard line to set Green Bay up with excellent field position.

The Detroit defense held up its end of the bargain and limited Green Bay to an Anders Carlson field goal, so Goff’s turnover only cost the Lions three points.
The last time Detroit played at Lambeau back in January, Goff and company ended Aaron Rodgers’ Packers career with a win in Week 18 to eliminated Green Bay from playoff contention.
We’ll see if they can make it two road wins in a row in this longstanding rivalry.
