The Green Bay Packers will either have a share of first place in the NFC North division around 3:00 Sunday, or they will be two games behind. So early season or not, it’s a big game. Hopefully the Packers will have quarterback Jordan Love back for this one, most signs this week point in that direction. It will, however, be a game time decision according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
The Packers will going up the NFL’s leading defense in sacks with a quarterback coming off an MCL injury. The Packers’ offensive line will again have to raise their play another level to keep the running game going to keep that rush off Love. If the Packers have to throw more than 25 times they will probably lose.
This will also be a huge test for the Packers’ defense. The Vikings are stacked at the skill positions and it will be Aaron Jones’ return to Lambeau Field after seven years in Green Bay. He has already said he will do a Lambeau Leap when he scores. Just like Justin Jefferson has promised to do his femmy dance in Jaire Alexander’s end zone. I hope Alexander plays, he was limited Wednesday and Thursday and missed practice Friday.
I think much like last year when the Vikings came to town it’s going to be a long day for the offense. Love will be rusty and wasn’t all that accurate in the opener to begin with. And I can’t see the defense not giving up some big plays. I’ll go with Vikings 24, Packers 16.
