The Green Bay Packers were able to win a game without Jordan Love last week to improve their record to 1-1. That was in Lambeau Field, the task this week will be much harder. We don’t know the status of Love yet but he did practice this week. He is listed as questionable today. Last week that was quickly downgraded to doubtful on Saturday, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow. If he’s questionable on Sunday he’s playing.
If Love doesn’t play it will be up to head coach Matt LaFleur to find a way to win against the NFL’s number one defense using a backup quarterback. I think the Packers will let Love sit one more week and bring him back against division rival Minnesota at Lambeau next week. So I’m basing my prediction on Malik Willis playing this game.
I think LaFleur is going to have to get really creative this week in incorporating some safe downfield passes. Even if they are just quick slants or outs, just something so the receiver can run after the catch. I don’t think we’ll see many passes more than ten yards downfield. So it will be the running game again as much as possible and I bet some quick passes to Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. Maybe Luke Musgrave makes an appearance as well this game.
The Titans No. 1 defense is only because they played the Bears and Jets the first two weeks. While the Jets looked better last night, neither one is a world-beater. I think the Packers’ defense will fluster Will Levis into a few bad plays. Nice to have a pocket quarterback to rush for a change. I’ll say the Packers go 2-0 under Willis with a 17-13 win.
