The recently-traded Rasul Douglas recorded three turnovers in the Bills’ win over the New York Jets this weekend.
Recently traded cornerback Rasul Douglas has already made his first month with the Buffalo Bills a memorable one. After being traded from the Green Bay Packers at the deadline, Douglas played a part-time role for the Bills in Week 9 before taking over as the full-time starting outside cornerback for Buffalo in the past two weeks.
On Sunday, against the struggling New York Jets without Aaron Rodgers, Douglas was able to haul in two interceptions and a fumble recovery, giving him three turnovers on the day. On top of the turnovers, Douglas also made four tackles and was credited for three defensed passes.

In all likelihood, Douglas will be named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11, which should quickly make him a fan favorite in Buffalo. When we asked Packers fans about how they felt about the Douglas trade, 43 percent of fans stated they felt positive about the move while 23 percent reported that they felt negative. The remaining 34 percent were neutral, though, I’m sure some of them have since changed their position after watching how Douglas has performed early in his Bills tenure.
With Douglas out of the lineup, Jaire Alexander injured and Eric Stokes on the injured reserve, the Packers have recently turned to rookie Carrington Valentine and former practice squadder Corey Ballentine to fill out their outside corner snaps. For the most part, they’ve played well, though, it helps that they’re playing in a defense that typically just asks them to play deep zone shells as an umbrella over opposing passing offenses.
If you still find yourself rooting for Douglas, as I am, at least you have an AFC team to root for down the stretch of this regular season — as the Bills try to get back into the playoff picture. With that being said, the more Buffalo wins the worse the third-round pick that the Packers received in exchange for Douglas will be in April.
