Aaron Rodgers is pleased to see Jordan Love leading the Green Bay Packers into playoff contention.
Love has 857 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and zero interceptions in three straight wins over the Los Angeles Chargers, Detroit Lions, and Kansas City Chiefs. The narrative has quickly changed regarding the 25-year-old quarterback’s future as a long-term replacement for Rodgers.
During his weekly spot on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers commended his former teammate’s “outstanding” play. However, he wishes everyone wouldn’t be so quick to “crown” or “cancel” a young quarterback.
“I love Jordan,” Rodgers said. “I think he’s going to be a great player in the league for a long time, but can we let him play his career?”
“Jordan Love is playing outstanding these last three games..
I love Jordan & I think he’s gonna be a great player in the league for a long time..
Obviously I wish things had gone different when I was in Green Bay but I have so much love for that organization” @AaronRodgers12 pic.twitter.com/EYmzh8Y33s

Rodgers cited Geno Smith’s late breakout with the Seattle Seahawks after a brutal start to his career on Rodgers’ current team, the New York Jets. He believes a passer can improve his accuracy over time by learning good fundamentals.
“Am I surprised by the way Jordan’s played? No. Am I happy for him? Hell yeah,” Rodgers continued.
Rodgers claimed the notion that he feels any animosity toward the Packers “couldn’t be farther from the truth.” He said he spent his 40th birthday party Sunday night hounding people for updates on Green Bay’s game against Kansas City.
“I’m not a bitter person about that. Obviously, I wish things had gone different when I was in Green Bay, and there’s things I wish I had done better,” Rodgers said. “But I have so much love for the organization. I have so many people I still talk to every single week week that work there. If I catch Jordan’s game, I usually send him a message.”
Love’s recent surge has Green Bay in a four-way tie for two NFC wild-card spots. None of their remaining opponents, starting with the 4-8 New York Giants next Monday night, currently possess a winning record.
Since the Jets have likely made his comeback efforts moot with a five-game losing streak, Rodgers might be able to watch a Packers playoff game next month.
