The Badgers have their biggest game of the regular season on Sunday.
Fresh off an 88-62 blowout win over the Washington Huskies, the Wisconsin Badgers are heading into their toughest matchup of the season with just three games to go when they take on the Michigan State Spartans on Sunday.
The Badgers, standing at 22-6, are currently 12-5 in conference play, ranking third in the Big Ten behind Michigan State (14-3) and Michigan (14-3).
Wisconsin bounced back in a big way on Tuesday after suffering an ugly overtime loss at the hands of the Oregon Ducks last weekend, pulling away from Washington and handling business as expected.
In the win, Wisconsin leaned on guard John Blackwell early and often, as the sophomore had 19 first-half points before finishing the game with 24. Wisconsin also had another good game from Steven Crowl, while Xavier Amos had his best outing with the Badgers, scoring a season-high 12 points on 4/5 from the field in just 15 minutes.
The Badgers, currently ranked as the No. 11 team in the country by the AP Poll, will now take on the lone team ahead of them in the conference, as the Spartans are ranked No. 8 in the country.
Michigan State is led by guard duo Jaden Akins and Jase Richardson, who average 12.7 and 11 points per game, respectively, for the well-balanced Spartans.
The Spartans only have two double-digit scorers on their team, but they still average 78.2 points per game, while shooting 46.5 percent from the field. They thrive on the defensive end, holding the sixth-best adjusted defensive efficiency in the country according to KenPom.
