The Badgers brought in an Illinois 2026 offensive lineman for a visit recently.
The Wisconsin Badgers brought in 2026 offensive lineman Gene Riordan on a visit earlier this spring on a big recruiting day two Saturdays ago.
Incredible experience in Madison watching Wisconsin practice. Thanks @CoachBlaz for inviting me! @WisFBRecruiting @EthanBrenesFB @JakeKoco @McNamaraRivals @CaseyRabach_61 @AllenTrieu @rymcq65 @HCRedDevilFB pic.twitter.com/xDfcHnpFjc

“My Wisconsin visit was outstanding overall,” Riordan shared to Bucky’s 5th Quarter. “Beautiful spring day with the smell of a freshly cut grass field, watching a great team play football. There was a large crowd of high school coaches standing around the field. It’s amazing to see the support the coaches association has for the Wisconsin program. The badgers showed two hours of high-intensity football, along with amazing technique taught by Coach Blazek.”
During the visit, Riordan got to connect with Coach Blazek, where the two discussed the offensive lineman’s potential fit at Wisconsin.
“My highlight would be Coach Blazek sitting with me for 30 minutes at lunch, having a fantastic conversation,” Riordan said. “Was able to ask several questions about his coaching philosophy and the atmosphere playing at Wisconsin. He also took the time to talk about the future of the program.”
“The ambition that Wisconsin has is amazing. They are installing a heated field at Camp Randall. With those expectations, I could definitely see it as a good fit.”
Thus far in the spring, Riordan has visited Louisville, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois, with the one down to Champaign occurring most recently.
As for the summer, the offensive lineman plans to visit Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Iowa, and Minnesota, with a return trip to Madison on the books as well.
Where do the Badgers fall on Riordan’s board right now?
“It’s definitely very high,” Riordan said. “I enjoyed my time in Madison a lot, also connected with the coaches incredibly well.”
As for future goals, the offensive lineman plans to keep hitting the weight room to improve his measurables, while a visit to Madison remains high on his priorities.
“Overall, keep working hard in the weight room and improve my speed and agility. Also to keep my grades excellent, along with getting back to Madison for camp this summer.”
