Can the Badgers make it 19 straight in the Border Battle rivalry?
Fresh off a 75-63 win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Minnesota Golden Gophers, with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. at the Kohl Center on Friday.
Wisconsin’s win on Monday made it four straight and the second straight conference win, improving them to 12-3 on the year and 2-2 in Big Ten play.
After scoring a career-high 32 points against Iowa, John Blackwell followed that up with 21 points against Rutgers, leading the Badgers to a victory.
Wisconsin now enters a matchup against an 8-7 Minnesota team that has lost four straight conference games to begin the season.
They’re led by senior forward Dawson Garcia, who is averaging 18.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this season, while shooting 49.4 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from three.
Behind him is guard Mike Mitchell Jr., who is averaging 12.2 points per game, while shooting 40.7 percent from deep on the season.
Minnesota plays with one of the slowest paces in the country, which has led them to score 68.8 points per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field as a team.
The Badgers come into Monday as a healthy 14.5-point favorite at home, and are looking to get their fifth straight win, as well as their third conference victory of the season. Can they get it done against Minnesota?
