Wisconsin has a number of players moving forward this offseason with NFL dreams.
The Wisconsin Badgers are in retool mode as they look ahead to the 2025 season, being active in the transfer portal after a disappointing 5-7 year in 2024.
But, while they look to replace a number of key players, there will be another select group looking to pursue their NFL Dreams this offseason, with a number already declaring their intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.
Which Badgers could hear their name called in late April later this offseason?
S Hunter Wohler
Wohler could’ve entered the NFL Draft last offseason, but elected to run it back for his final season with the hopes of making more splash plays.
While he didn’t have any interceptions, forced fumbles, or sacks, Wohler accumulated 71 tackles and six pass breakups in 2024, one season after generating 120 tackles and two interceptions in 2023.
Wohler did miss some time with an injury this season, but he’s a versatile safety with good tackling and aggressiveness, making him a solid option for a number of teams as a potential Day 2 draft pick.
OT Jack Nelson
Like Wohler, Nelson could’ve declared for the draft last year, but the offensive tackle had a rough 2023 season thanks to a number of penalties before re-building his stock this past year.
In 2024, working under first-year position coach AJ Blazek, Nelson had a much better year, both in pass protection and as a run blocker.
At 6’7, 315 pounds, Nelson has the size of a tackle, which seems to be his spot in the NFL, but also has experience at guard, giving him some of the versatility that teams covet along the offensive line.
Nelson can very well stick at tackle, and should go in the 2025 NFL Draft.
OL Joe Huber
The other departing starter on the offensive line should hear his name called as well this April, as Joe Huber put together multiple years as a starter across seasons with the Cincinnati Bearcats and the Badgers.
A versatile weapon with experience at all positions along the offensive line, Huber put together some solid tape and can fit a number of systems at 6’5, 310 pounds.
Starting this past season at right guard, Huber will look to improve his stock this offseason at the East-West Shrine Bowl en route to getting drafted this April.
