Can the Badgers make it six straight on Tuesday?
Fresh off an 80-59 win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, the Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Ohio State Buckeyes, with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. at the Kohl Center on Tuesday.
Wisconsin’s win on Monday made it five straight and the third straight conference win, improving them to 13-3 on the year and 3-2 in Big Ten play.
It was the Steven Crowl show against an undersized Minnesota team as the center poured in 18 points on an efficient 6/7 from the field, marking his fifth straight game with at least 14 points on good efficiency.
Additionally, sixth man Kamari McGee stepped into a starting role due to an injury to Max Klesmit, scoring 15 points while recording three steals in an all-around effort in his first start with the Badgers.
Wisconsin now enters a matchup against an 10-6 Ohio State team that has gone 3-2 in conference play, most recently losing a 73-71 game to the ranked Oregon Ducks.
They’re led by star point guard Bruce Thornton, who averages 17.1 points, while dishing out 4.4 assists per game and shooting 53 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from deep.
Forward Devin Royal has stepped into a big role as a sophomore, ranking second on the team with 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, while shooting 54.5 percent from the field. Not far behind are guards John Mobley Jr. and Micah Parrish, who both average double-figures as well.
The Badgers come into Monday as a 6.5-point favorite at home, and are looking to get their sixth straight win, as well as their fourth conference victory of the season. Can they get it done against Ohio State?
