The Badgers have a favorable Quad 1 opportunity ahead of them against Iowa on Saturday.
Fresh off a 76-84 win over the Indiana Hoosiers, the Wisconsin Badgers are capping off the week with a road matchup against the Iowa Hawkeyes, with tip-off set for 12:00 p.m. at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Saturday.
Wisconsin put together a strong performance at home on Tuesday, getting out to a 19-2 start for the second consecutive game at the Kohl Center and never trailing against the Hoosiers. In fact, the team led by double digits for over 36 minutes in the contest.
It was a great team effort from Wisconsin, as four players scored in double figures, while the team hit double-digit threes and shot over 40 percent beyond the arc.
Now, the Badgers enter a matchup against an Iowa Hawkeyes team that has gone 13-9 on the year and 4-7 in conference play, most recently losing a close 90-81 game to the Purdue Boilermakers.
Iowa will be without star sophomore forward Owen Freeman, who is out for the season with finger surgery. Freeman had been the team’s leading scorer and rebounder this season.
Instead, the Hawkeyes will rely more on the perimeter duo of Josh Dix and Payton Sandfort to carry the load, as they look to get revenge on the Badgers following a 116-85 loss back in early January.
The Badgers come into Wednesday as a 5.5-point favorite on the road. Can they extend their winning streak to three and sweep the season series with Iowa?
