Can the Badgers pull off a big upset on Tuesday in another conference game?
Fresh off an 88-74 loss to the No. 5 Marquette Golden Eagles, the No. 20 Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Illinois Fighting Illini, with tip-off set for 8:00 p.m. at the State Farm Center on Tuesday.
The Badgers had a strong start to the season, winning their first eight games, but they have lost their last two games, falling short against both the Michigan Wolverines and Illinois Fighting Illini.
As a result, they stand at 8-2 on the season and things don’t get any easier when they travel to face the Illinois Fighting Illini in Champaign on Tuesday, looking to pull off an upset against a tough conference opponent.
Wisconsin’s offense started the year hot with eight straight games of over 79 points, but they’ve scored just 64 and 74 points in their last two games.
Illinois, on the other hand, also averages 86.3 points per game, thanks to a strong three-headed monster of center Tomislav Ivisic (16.1 points per game), forward Will Riley (15.0 points per game), and guard Kasparas Jakucionis (14.4 points per game).
Being 6.5-point underdogs, can the Badgers pull off a big upset and get back on track with a win?
