The Badgers are facing a familiar opponent in the NCAA quarterfinals.
Fresh off a 3-1 win over the No. 7-seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the No. 2-seeded Wisconsin Badgers are scheduled to face off against the No. 6-seeded Texas A&M Aggies on Friday in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
The Badgers had a challenge against a feisty Georgia Tech team, narrowly losing the first set 27-25 before winning the next three 25-20, 25-23, and 25-21 to win their final game of the season at the UW Field House.
They now move on to Lincoln, Nebraska to face the Aggies on Friday evening, looking to book themselves in the semifinals once again.
2024 is Wisconsin’s 12th straight appearance in the Sweet Sixteen, and they’ll see a familiar opponent as they beat Texas A&M 3-0 back in September at the Field House.
The Aggies finished the regular season 21-7, including 10-6 in conference play. They’re coming off a 3-1 victory over No. 8-seeded Arizona State, winning 25-19, 22-25, 25-15, and 25-22 to book their trip to the Sweet Sixteen.
If Wisconsin can pull off the victory, they could set up a matchup against the No. 1-seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Elite Eight, hoping to exact revenge after two disappointing losses to their rivals this season.
