The Badgers have a big chance at an upset on Saturday.
Fresh off a 67-64 loss to the Michigan Wolverines, the No. 11 Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the No. 5 Marquette Golden Eagles, with tip-off set for 12:30 p.m. at the Fiserv Forum on Saturday.
The Badgers had a strong start to the season, winning their first eight games, but they dropped a close one to Michigan on Tuesday in a back-and-forth battle, faltering down the stretch in their first conference game.
As a result, they stand at 8-1 on the season and things don’t get any easier when they travel to face the Marquette Golden Eagles in Milwaukee on Saturday, looking to pull off a big upset against the No. 5 team in the country.
Wisconsin has looked the part offensively to start the year, averaging 82.9 points per game. Transfer wing John Tonje has led the way with 22.3 points per game, shooting 51.4 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from deep, making waves as one of the best players in the country this far.
Marquette, on the other hand, also averages 82.9 points per game, with guard Kam Jones leading the way at 19 points per game on some of the best efficiency from a guard in the country.
Being 7.5-point underdogs, can the Badgers pull off a big upset and potentially crack the Top 10 in the AP Poll on Saturday?
