Miami transfer Tyler Van Dyke is one of many quarterbacks currently in the NCAA transfer portal.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Van Dyke is visiting a Big Ten program this weekend. The 2021 ACC Rookie of the Year is checking out the University of Wisconsin.
Van Dyke, a fourth-year junior this past season, entered the portal as a grad transfer in late November.

After redshirting in 2020, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Van Dyke posted a stellar 2021 campaign, completing 62.3% of his passes for 2,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Van Dyke’s numbers dipped in 2022, as he threw for 1,835 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions in nine games under new offensive coordinator Josh Gattis.
This season, the Glastonbury, Ct. native passed for 2,703 yards, 19 touchdowns and 12 INTs, but also dealt with jeers from home fans.
“I don’t even know they were vocal about it,” Van Dyke said of the booing, via On3 Sports. “I mean, obviously playing quarterback here at the University of Miami, they expect a lot of things from you. Their expectations are high and if you don’t play well, yeah, you’re gonna get a lot of that. Ut’s pretty much anywhere you go in Power Five football and in the NFL.
“So that’s a part of the business and you know, I love being a Miami Hurricane and yeah, I mean, it’s part of the business. You’re gonna get that if you don’t play well. And you know, I don’t have Instagram, Twitter or anything like that, so I don’t see it, but I assume it’s like that.”
Van Dyke will be immediately eligible at his new destination in 2024.
