The Badgers are quickly building one of the best recruiting classes in the 2025 cycle.
The Wisconsin Badgers have continued their momentum on the recruiting trail, recently picking up a commitment from 2025 four-star offensive lineman Hardy Watts, who chose the program over schools such as Michigan and Clemson.
With Watts’s commitment, the Badgers are up to 22 total commits in their 2025 class, and they aren’t done yet, with a few of their targets still remaining on the board.
Through the first few days of July, how does the Badgers 2025 class stand so far?
Offense
QB Landyn Locke
WR Eugene Hilton
WR Cameron Miller
TE Nizyi Davis
OL Michael Roeske
OL Cam Clark
OL Logan Powell
OL Nolan Davenport
OL Hardy Watts
With nine recruits on the offensive side of the ball, Wisconsin is fairly set here, with really only one major recruitment remaining that feels realistic.
Four-star running back Byron Louis was the lone target at the position, but it feels like he’ll remain closer to home in Florida, with schools such as Miami, Florida State, and Georgia all showing significant interest.
That leaves three-star wideout Muizz Tounkara, who has a final three of Wisconsin, Arizona, and Kansas, and is expected to commit on July 13th.
The offensive line is the headliner of this class, as Wisconsin was able to put together another five-lineman class that has a mix of high-upside talent, as well as strong interior play.
Wisconsin added value at receiver, both inside and outside, after taking one player at the position in the 2024 cycle, putting together a strong offensive group overall in the 2025 class.
Defense
DL Torin Pettaway
DL Wilnerson Telemaque
OLB Samuel Lateju
OLB Brendan Anes
OLB Nicholas Clayton
LB Cooper Catalano
LB Mason Posa
DB Jahmare Washington
ATH Remington Moss
ATH Jaimier Scott
ATH Grant Dean
ATH Luke Emmerich
The Badgers’ primary work in the class came on defense, where 12 of their 22 total commits stand.
With this group, Wisconsin landed some high-value players, such as linebacker Mason Posa, as well as a number of players with good potential. The key was adding length and athleticism across the board, which the Badgers ultimately did.
The bigger questions come at defensive back following the de-commitment of four-star Rukeem Stroud, as Wisconsin is still pursuing SMU commit Zadian Gentry. But, they have Remington Moss and Jaimier Scott as athletes who could get some run initially at cornerback with how deep their defensive back group is in the class.
Additionally, the Badgers may look to add one more defensive lineman to the group after landing three-star Wilnerson Telemaque, bringing another piece to the class.
But, this is another nice group for Wisconsin, who got three players at a big position, outside linebacker, and continued to fill up their secondary.
Special Teams
K Erik Schmidt
Kicker Nathanial Vakos has two more years of eligibility, so the Badgers looked into the specialist class and added the best punter in the nation, Erik Schmidt, according to Kohls.
Schmidt is also a valued kicker, which is his expected position at Wisconsin, and could be the next in line to fill the role as a scholarship player for the Badgers.
