Wisconsin wide receiver Markus Allen was one of over 40 people arrested at a block party earlier this month and there are now new details on what came after.
According to Colten Bartholomew of the Wisconsin State Journal, a search warrant reveals that police searched Allen’s backpack and found an unloaded Glock 19 handgun that had been reported stolen last year along with a magazine loaded with one round of ammunition in a separate pocket.
The warrant itself does not indicate that Allen is being investigated for any crimes. However he does not have a concealed carry permit in Wisconsin or his home state of Ohio, according tot he report.
Allen was initially arrested for possessing an open container on municipal property, but further charges have not yet been filed by the Dane County District Attorney.

Markus Allen caught seven passes for 91 yards and a touchdown for the Badgers in 2022. He entered the transfer and initially appeared headed for Minnesota before changing his mind and returning to Wisconsin.
Allen’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 21 for his citation of possessing an open container of alcohol. After that, the DA will have a few more days to determine whether to charge him with any crimes relating to the gun possession.
