The Badgers got a premier addition in the transfer portal on Sunday night.
It’s official. The Wisconsin Badgers have landed a commitment from San Diego State Aztecs transfer guard Nick Boyd on Monday.
Boyd, a 6’3, 175-pound senior, had been on a visit to Wisconsin late last week, propelling the Badgers near the front of his recruitment. Now, he’s the latest addition to Wisconsin’s backcourt, joining sophomore guard John Blackwell as the projected starters.
After spending three years at FAU, Boyd transferred to San Diego State last season, where he averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from three.
It was a career year for Boyd, who was a starter at FAU during their Final Four run back in 2022-23.
Wisconsin has now picked up three commitments in the transfer portal, first landing Virginia Cavaliers wing Andrew Rohde before getting Portland forward Austin Rapp.
Rohde and Boyd come to Wisconsin with one year of eligibility left, while Rapp has three.
With Boyd in the fold, here is Wisconsin’s current scholarship roster for the 2025-26 season:
