The Badgers got a huge transfer addition at a position of need.
The Wisconsin Badgers secured a commitment from Ball State transfer tight end Tanner Koziol on Saturday, marking their second addition from the portal.
Koziol, a junior this season, had a monster 2024 season, catching 94 passes for 839 yards and eight touchdowns, ranking among the top tight ends in the country.
Among entering the portal, he was ranked as the No. 2 transfer tight end in the country by ESPN, giving the Badgers a major addition at a position of need.
Wisconsin hadn’t gotten much production from the position over the past two years, relying on a much younger room this year.
The lone senior from the group, Riley Nowakowski, entered the transfer portal this week, creating an even bigger hole at the position.
With Koziol, Wisconsin gets a productive playmaker for new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes who should likely step into a starting role quickly for the Badgers.
He becomes the second transfer to join the Badgers after Louisville defensive end Mason Reiger committed to Wisconsin earlier this week.
