Edwards, a rising senior from Springfield, Virginia, threw for 2,881 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 11 games this season, while also rushing for five scores.
In his first season as the true starter at Maryland, the 6’4, 219-pound quarterback completed 65 percent of his passes and was used as a dual-threat.
He especially shined against the USC Trojans, tossing for 373 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-28 win, while starting the year strong against a number of opponents.
But, he elected to enter the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility and received significant interest, including from the Michigan Wolverines and the Virginia Cavaliers.
Edwards was in on an official visit this past weekend, and reportedly visited Virginia before making his decision to commit to Wisconsin.
The Badgers also landed a commitment from San Diego State quarterback Danny O’Neil on Monday, adding in two signal-callers to their 2025 group, which looks fairly set now with five scholarship quarterbacks.
With Edwards in the fold as the presumed starter, Wisconsin will have him, O’Neil, Mabrey Mettauer, Carter Smith, and Landyn Locke as their quarterbacks next season.
