The Badgers have lost both their point guards to the transfer portal this offseason.
Wisconsin Badgers point guard Daniel Freitag is entering the transfer portal, according to League Ready.

The move is a big one for both sides, as Freitag was one of the most heralded recruits in Wisconsin basketball history, coming in as a four-star in the Class of 2024.
A freshman this past season, Freitag played in 14 games this season, averaging two minutes per contest, but never carved out a major role, despite the opportunity being there in the offseason.
With Freitag’s departure, Wisconsin will lose all three scholarship point guards from a season ago, as Kamari McGee is out of eligibility, while the freshman and Camren Hunter have now both entered the transfer portal.
The move only further emphasizes Wisconsin’s need for a guard in the transfer portal to complement John Blackwell, and the team could look for multiple starters now, as they have to replace a larger contingent of players.
The Badgers are now set to have five open scholarship spots with Freitag’s departure, as there are currently eight outgoing players this offseason, with only three coming in via the 2025 freshman class.
